Whacky Wednesday!
Notices: We have started the magazine sales today! Proceeds go toward improving our cross-country ski sets.
Also, school photo orders were due back today, but, if they come in first thing tomorrow, you might have missed the penalty.
We are working in our Everything Books. They will make great reading and conversation for the conferences coming up next week! Also, it makes being organized easy for some.
Homework:
French duotangs are due tomorrow morning, with all assignments completed and coloured!
Novel study projects were assigned yesterday and are due on Monday, Oct. 18. Here are the otions:
Novel Study Projects â" Due Date: Monday, Oct. 18
SPELLING, PUNCTUATION, CAPITALIZATION AND SENTENCE STRUCTURES COUNT, OF COURSE!!
1) Character Container â" Create a character container that represents either Jesse or Leslie. It should have at least five objects plus the container itself. Each symbol should show a different part of your characterâs personality, hopes, dreams and interests. Include a paragraph explaining each object and why each was included.
You will be marked for showing understanding of your character and the quality of your written explanation.
2) Model or Diorama â" Build a miniature âTerabithiaâ that Jess and Leslie created. Put it on a solid background. Use all kinds of materials and include as many details as you can find from the story. Include a paragraph explaining your model. Tell about the parts which you have included.
You will be marked for the storyâs descriptive details you have included and explained, as well as your creative use of different materials.
3) Headstone and Epitaph â" A headstone is the grave marker made for a grave. The epitaph includes the personâs name, birth and death date and a message or quote to remind others of the spirit of the dead person. Design an appropriate headstone for Leslie. Think of the materials which would be used, the design on it and the message which you would carve or place on it. Create the headstone.
You will be marked for showing you understand Leslieâs personality and character, your craftsmanship, the materials used and the wording which you add.
Phrase that pays (in your planner on today's space): My parent(s) know about my conference time and date!
See you tomorrow!
