Tantalizing Tuesday!

No kidding! You tantalized us all with your fan, ribbon and dragon dance practises. Well done!

Big Notice: Because of declining sales for Beads, the Saturday session in the Credit Union is cancelled. We will continue to have sales in the library and classroom, if you hear of anyone who missed out.

Homework:

Parvana's Journey - finish reading chapters 4-6 and answer questions and write Golden Lines - due after 1/2 hour of classtime tomorrow.

Phrase that pays (in your planner on today's space): We are dancing fools!

See you tomorrow!

Mostly Monday, with a little bit of last week left over. Everything Books tend to not get wrapped up on Friday!

We sold quite a bit of Bead for Life jewellery on Saturday. Brianna, Ashley, Heidi, Ivy, Sol, Rowan and Courtney were dependable salesmen! Good job, everyone.

Our mural is really finished! The animals look wonderful in the forest setting. Next assignment: present the reports and create a food web from information you learn.

Homework:

Math - make up 10 division word problems. We will have a test on the best 10 from your ideas. Due tomorrow.

Phrase that pays (in your planner on today's space): Report cards will come home on Thursday!

See you tomorrow!

Frantic Frenetic Freaky Friday

Did I remember all of your sugestions?

BeadforLife schedule - I am sorry for delaying informing parents about your shift. I will call on Monday. Some of you are off the hook altogether!

Homework: None, but I have a surprise! There will be a science test on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday, whichever day suits you individually. It will be a mural evaluation, testing your knowledge on kingdoms, adaptations and ecosystems. You can start studying on Monday, when I return your duotangs.

Phrase that pays (in your planner on today's space): A science test? I'll be ready.

See you Monday!

Scrumptious Sunday!
Hopefully, it will be followed by a Monstrously Magnificent Monday!
Reminders: Please return your slip indicating parent interest in helping supervise our Bead for Life tables at either the PALS Christmas Craft Fair or the Credit Union.
Here are our two most recent classroom pictures. You might know that the school created a Remembrance Day wreath for the Cenotaph on Thursday.
On the left are Rowan and Brianna holding the wreath which they placed on the Cenotaph during the ceremonies.
On the right is Courtney holding the finished wreath, for which every student at N.E.S. was invited to create a poppy. Students in our class applied them to a large cardboard background. Isn't it beautiful!
Homework? I don't think so! It's the week-end.
Phrase that pays (in your planner on today's space): Coming right up - Christmas concert!

Tubular Tuesday (paper bead tubes, that is)

We are selling beads without any advertising or preparation. Tomorrow, I will send home a schedule of sale dates and times for students to sign up for. Parents would be welcome, too, especially for the PALS Christmas Craft Fair and the Credit Union Saturday sale in early December (no confirmed date until tomorrow).

Reminder: Photo re-take money is due tomorrow.

Homework:

5 multiplication word problems to make up. At least three must have situations requiring double digit by double digit solutions.

Phrase that pays (in your planner on today's space): I'll bet our math problem will involve beads!

See you tomorrow!

Saturated Sunday

In my bead excitement, I forgot to remind everyone to REMEMBER TO HAVE YOUR PARENT SIGN YOUR PERMISSION TO ENTER THE LEGION CONTEST SLIP. THEY MUST BE BACK TOMORROW BECAUSE THE LEGION MEMBERS ARE GOING TO PICK THEM UP AFTER SCHOOL.

Phrase that pays (in your planner on today's space): See yesterday's blog.

See you tomorrow!

Soggy Sopping Soaking Saturday!

Now, how's that for alliteration? So many S words, so few T.

Our beads are here! I took a sneak peek into the box and am very pleasantly surprised. Most items are very reasonably priced and suitable for all ages. I had forgotten that they were including lip balm and soap made from organic shea nuts. Great little gifts! Of course, there are also bangles and necklaces galore! We will start doing lunch hour sales as soon as we get a crew organized.

Phrase that pays (in your planner on today's space): Beads for Life give two ways.

See you on (hopefully) Marvellous Monday! Band is first period!

Thrilling Thursday!

We had our last two French maison hantee presentations today. Now, we are busily working on our Remembrance Day writing and art projects, most of which will be entered in the Legion's contest. Most students have finished their letters to war veterans and they are pretty great! Some have even published their poems.

Homework:

Math: Double digit multiplication. First two rows on page 143, due tomorrow.

Phrase that pays (in your planner on today's space): My life is excellent compared to Parvana's.

See you tomorrow!

Thoroughly Thoughtful Tuesday!

Thoughtful? Well, we are doing a lot of thinking, these days, about Remembrance Day and less fortunate children in the world.

Homework? NONE!

Phrase that pays (in your planner on today's space): Maybe just a gumball?

See you tomorrow!

Munchy Monday

We survived the day, over-sugared and under-slept.

Our Bead for Life shipment left Colorado today, destination: Nakusp. You will be contacted when it arrives and we can set up dates for sales.

Homework:
French - Practise your maison hantee presentation! It isn't a big deal if you need to use your notes. Use whatever you need to be successful!

Reading - Opinion paragraph comparing Bridge to Terabithia movie to book. Make it strong and convincing with story/movie details and based on plot, character and setting.

Phrase that pays (in your planner on today's space): Well, I sure don't need any candy!

See you tomorrow!
